Linda Perez, a sophomore at UC Riverside, finished fifth in the women's 6-kilometer race in 20:43.5 at the Big West Conference Cross Country Championships at Blacklake Golf Resort in Nipomo, Calif. Perez, who placed fourth at the 2021 Big West final and won the conference preview meet Sept. 1 with a 5-kilometer performance of 17:35.5, helped the Highlanders take third overall as a team with 87 points.
